Welcome to Italian Buttons! We are delighted to offer you our unique buttons. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our website, https://italian-buttons.co.uk, and the purchase of products from our shop when you are located in the United Kingdom (UK). By placing an order with us, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully.
We are Italian Buttons, registered in England and Wales. Our registered office is at Unit 2 H.W. Baines ind. Estate, Fishergreen, Ripon, HG4 1NN ("we", "us", "our"). Our UK VAT registration number is GB 101 5780 48.

1. About These Terms
1.1. Scope: These Terms apply to all sales of products by us to you, the customer, within the UK through our website.
1.2. Language: The language of these Terms and any contract formed will be English.
1.3. Amendments: We reserve the right to amend these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on our website and will apply to any orders placed after the effective date of the revised Terms. We recommend you review these Terms each time you make a purchase.
2. Eligibility to Purchase
2.1. To purchase from our shop, you must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering into a legally binding contract.
2.2. You confirm that any information you provide to us is accurate and complete.
2.3. We only sell to customers within the United Kingdom (England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland). We do not currently accept orders for delivery outside the UK.
3. Products
3.1. Description: We take all reasonable care to ensure that product descriptions, images, and prices are accurate. However, slight variations in colour or appearance may occur due to screen settings or the handmade nature of some of our buttons. All descriptions and images are for illustrative purposes only.
3.2. Availability: All products are subject to availability. We will inform you as soon as possible if any products in your order are not available, and we may offer you an alternative or a full refund for the unavailable items.
4. Placing an Order and Contract Formation
4.1. Order Process: To place an order, you will need to select the products you wish to purchase, add them to your basket, and proceed to the checkout. You will be asked to provide your personal details, shipping address, and payment information.
4.2. Order Acceptance: Your order constitutes an offer to buy products from us. Our acceptance of your order will take place when we email you to confirm that the products have been dispatched. At this point, a contract will come into existence between you and us.
4.3. Non-Acceptance: We reserve the right not to accept your order for any reason, including but not limited to:
- The product being unavailable.
- Our inability to obtain authorisation for your payment.
- The identification of a pricing or product description error.
- You not meeting the eligibility criteria set out in these Terms.
4.4. Order Confirmation: Upon placing your order, you will receive an email acknowledging receipt of your order. This email is not an acceptance of your order but confirms that we have received it.
5. Prices and Payment
5.1. Currency: All prices are displayed in Pounds Sterling (GBP).
5.2. VAT: All prices shown on our website are inclusive of UK Value Added Tax (VAT) at the prevailing rate.
5.3. Shipping Costs: Shipping costs will be calculated and displayed at checkout based on your delivery address and the shipping option you choose.
5.4. Payment Methods: We accept payment by PayPal. Payment will be taken at the time you place your order.
5.5. Pricing Errors: If we discover an error in the price of products you have ordered, we will inform you as soon as possible and give you the option of reconfirming your order at the correct price or cancelling it. If we are unable to contact you, we will treat the order as cancelled. If you cancel and have already paid for the goods, you will receive a full refund.
6. Delivery
6.1. Delivery Address: We will deliver the goods to the delivery address specified in your order within the UK. It is your responsibility to ensure this address is correct.
6.2. Delivery Times: We will provide you with an estimated delivery timeframe at checkout. We aim to dispatch orders within 3 working days of order acceptance. While we make every effort to meet these estimates, delivery times are not guaranteed.
6.3. Risk and Ownership: Risk in the products passes to you when they are delivered to your specified address. Ownership of the products will only pass to you once we have received full payment, including all applicable delivery charges.
6.4. Delays: We will not be liable for any delay or failure to deliver products if the delay or failure is wholly or partly caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control (e.g., postal strikes, extreme weather, transport disruptions).
7. Your Right to Cancel (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013)
7.1. Cooling-Off Period: If you are a consumer in the UK, you have the right to cancel your contract with us for any reason within 14 days without giving any reason. This cancellation period will expire after 14 days from the day on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you acquires, physical possession of the goods.
7.2. Exercising Your Right to Cancel: To exercise the right to cancel, you must inform us of your decision to cancel this contract by a clear statement (e.g., a letter sent by post or email). You can contact us at:

7.3. Deadline: To meet the cancellation deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right to cancel before the cancellation period has expired.
7.4. Effects of Cancellation (Returns):
- If you cancel this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us).
- We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you. You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics, and functioning of the goods.
- You shall send back the goods or hand them over to us at Italian Buttons — Unit 2 H.W. Baines ind. Estate, Fishergreen, Ripon, HG4 1NN, without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your cancellation from this contract to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired.
- You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods.
7.5. Reimbursement: We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than:
- (a) 14 days after the day we receive back from you any goods supplied, or
- (b) (if earlier) 14 days after the day you provide evidence that you have returned the goods, or
- (c) if there were no goods supplied, 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to cancel this contract.
We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of the reimbursement.
7.6. Non-Returnable Goods: The right to cancel does not apply to goods made to your specifications or clearly personalised.
8. Faulty Goods (Consumer Rights Act 2015)
8.1. Your Rights: Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be as described, fit for purpose, and of satisfactory quality. If you receive goods that are faulty or not as described, you have statutory rights. These include:
- Short-term right to reject (within 30 days of delivery): You can get a full refund.
- Right to repair or replacement (after 30 days but typically within six months of delivery): You are entitled to a repair or replacement. If the repair or replacement is unsuccessful or not possible, you can then claim a refund (or a price reduction if you wish to keep the product).
8.2. Reporting Faulty Goods: If you believe any product you have received is faulty, please contact us as soon as possible at info@italian-buttons.co.uk with your order number, a description of the fault, and photographic evidence if possible.
8.3. Return of Faulty Goods: If we agree that the goods are faulty, we will provide instructions for returning the goods to Italian Buttons — Unit 2 H.W. Baines ind. Estate, Fishergreen, Ripon, HG4 1NN. We will cover the reasonable cost of returning faulty goods.
9. Our Liability
9.1. Our Responsibility: If we fail to comply with these Terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking this contract or our failing to use reasonable care and skill, but we are not responsible for any loss or damage that is not foreseeable. Loss or damage is foreseeable if either it is obvious that it will happen or if, at the time the contract was made, both we and you knew it might happen.
9.2. Business Losses: We only supply the products for domestic and private use. If you use the products for any commercial, business or re-sale purpose we will have no liability to you for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, or loss of business opportunity.
9.3. Limits of Liability: Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for:
- Death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
- Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
- Breach of your legal rights in relation to the products (as summarised in Clause 8.1);
- Any matter in respect of which it would be unlawful for us to exclude or restrict liability under the laws of England and Wales.
10. Data Protection and Privacy
10.1. We will only use your personal information as set out in our Privacy Policy, which can be found here: https://italian-buttons.co.uk/en/privacy.
10.2. Our Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect from you, how and why we collect, store, use and share such information, your rights in relation to your personal data and how to contact us and supervisory authorities in the event you have a query or complaint about the use of your personal data. We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
11. Intellectual Property
11.1. All content included on our website, such as text, graphics, logos, images, and software, is our property or the property of our content suppliers and is protected by UK and international copyright laws.
11.2. You may not extract or reutilise parts of the content of the website without our express written consent.
12. Circumstances Beyond Our Control (Force Majeure)
12.1. We will not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform or delay in performance of, any of our obligations under a contract that is caused by an event outside our reasonable control ("Force Majeure Event").
12.2. A Force Majeure Event includes any act, event, non-happening, omission or accident beyond our reasonable control and includes in particular (without limitation) strikes, lock-outs or other industrial action; civil commotion, riot, invasion, terrorist attack or threat of terrorist attack, war (whether declared or not) or threat or preparation for war; fire, explosion, storm, flood, earthquake, subsidence, epidemic, pandemic or other natural disaster; impossibility of the use of railways, shipping, aircraft, motor transport or other means of public or private transport; impossibility of the use of public or private telecommunications networks; the acts, decrees, legislation, regulations or restrictions of any government.
12.3. Our performance under any contract is deemed to be suspended for the period that the Force Majeure Event continues, and we will have an extension of time for performance for the duration of that period. We will use our reasonable endeavours to bring the Force Majeure Event to a close or to find a solution by which our obligations under the contract may be performed despite the Force Majeure Event.
13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
13.1. These Terms and any contract between us shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
13.2. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms or any contract between us shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
14. Other Important Terms
14.1. Severability: If any court or relevant authority decides that any of the provisions of these Terms are unlawful, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
14.2. Waiver: If we do not insist immediately that you do anything you are required to do under these Terms, or if we delay in taking steps against you in respect of your breaking this contract, that will not mean that you do not have to do those things and it will not prevent us taking steps against you at a later date.
14.3. Third Party Rights: This contract is between you and us. No other person shall have any rights to enforce any of its terms (under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 or otherwise).
14.4. Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our current website prices, delivery details, contact details, and privacy policy, set out the whole of our agreement relating to the supply of the goods to you by us.
